Inaugural Tickets on Sale Monday
Inaugural Schedule Released
PIERRE, SD -The 2019 South Dakota Inaugural ceremonies and celebration are set for Saturday, Jan. 5 in Pierre. Tickets for the events go on sale Monday, Dec. 3, 2018.
Inaugural events include public Oath of Office Ceremonies for the Governor, Constitutional Officers, and other Elected Officials, as well as a Capitol Ball and Inaugural Ball.
The City of Pierre serves as host for the Inaugural events.
“The Pierre community embraces its role as the Capital City,” said Pierre Mayor Steve Harding. “We are very much looking forward to honoring the state’s elected officials with a grand celebration!”
Oath of Office Ceremonies for legislators begin at 11 a.m. CST in their respective chambers at the State Capitol. The Oath of Office Ceremony for the Governor-elect and other elected state officials begins at noon in the State Capitol Rotunda. All Oath of Office Ceremonies are free and open to the public.
The Capitol Ball, featuring the Over Forte band, begins at 6:30 p.m. at the State Capitol. The Grand March begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are required and cost $25 per person.
The Inaugural Ball, featuring the 147th Army Band, South Dakota National Guard, begins at 8 p.m. at the Ramkota River Centre. The Inaugural Ball Grand March begins at 9 p.m. Tickets are required and cost $25 per person.

The Inaugural Committee is appointed by Mayor Steve Harding; it leads and organizes all Inaugural events. Matt and Stephanie Judson of Pierre are the 2019 Inaugural Chairs.
